USCCA Donates $10,000 to fight for gun rights…
Every now and then, I get emails from people asking me to leave politics out of the USCCA.
They say that they LOVE the information we give, but they don’t want to hear about how ‘so and so may or may not be after our guns‘.
Here’s the deal: If you like drinking coffee, and some special interest group suddenly begins howling that coffee is a national health hazard, and it could save taxpayers $100 Billion per year if coffee were outlawed, you sort of have a decision to make:
“Is my passion for coffee worth fighting for? Or do I go with the flow.”
The fact of the matter is that guns are controversial… And if you’ve carried concealed for any amount of time, you already know that it really becomes a defining part of your lifestyle.
So… unless you are willing to give up the Concealed Carry lifestyle, you sort of have to recognize that it’s impossible to discuss Concealed Carry without bringing politics into it.
There are a LOT of people who don’t agree with your way of life, and they are willing to spend a lot of money and time to take your right to Carry Concealed away from you.
Well, I have big news- the USCCA is stepping up to the plate.
I’m sure you’ve heard about the Supreme Court decision from last year, which struck down Washington D.C.’s ban on handguns.
Well, now our allies in the gun-rights battle are going after the next biggest 2nd Amendment offender- Chicago, who also bans handguns.
In order for the case to even show up as a blip on the radar, a brief has to be filed, outlining the entire case. This can be VERY expensive- like, $30,000 expensive.
Well, the Buckeye Firearms Association is spear-heading the drive to have this brief written, and I have a huge announcement to make:
The USCCA just donated $10,000 toward this effort!
Become a member of the USCCA today, and know that your money is going toward making REAL change.
| They hate your way of life. We love it, and we thank you for having made the correct choice.
Stay safe, Tim Schmidt P.S.- What do you think about standing up to protect your rights? Click on the comment form below to let us know what you think! |

You are doing the right thing in donating money for our rights!
12:50 pm
I agree with your position 100%. Politics gets involved in every aspect of our lives and with this administration it’s been taken to whole new level. As a 9/11 survivor, I realize how dangerous the world is, bnoth foriegn and domestic. I absolutely don’t want to lose my 2nd ammendment right to own guns and not only its use for sporting purposes but even more important, to defend and protect my family and myself. Good decision to help out!
12:51 pm
Tim:
I’m thankful that USCCA is donating $10k for something that’s the life blood of America…and that’s our right to keep and bear arms. As a retired deputy sheriff, I’ve carried concealed for many years.
Thanks for your leadership im our organization…
12:51 pm
Out standing.
12:53 pm
way too go Tim
on with the good fight
12:54 pm
You’re absolutely right, thanks for stepping up. Anyone that even owns a gun should belong to the NRA and their State organization. But then I’ll never figure people out. There are gun owners and pro life Catholics that voted for Obama.
12:55 pm
BRAVO!! Good for you Tim! With the unfounded hysteria about firearms that the main stream media is shoving down our throats, we need to support the NRA and our 2nd ammendment rights.
12:55 pm
Absolutely the “Right” thing to do!
12:55 pm
I agree that politics is a sticky subject but standing up for our rights is the least we can do. I am proud to be part of the USCCA.
12:56 pm
I became a U.S. Citizen 4 years ago and after reading the Constitution exhaustively I am amazed at the number of people are against self-defense and the right to carry. Such people have a right to their ignorance but wait until they need to be defended and the pretty police officer isn’t there…they just might have a change of heart but then again, since they disagree with carrying, then maybe they should just hand over their wallet, spouse, child, or even their own life.
12:56 pm
There was a recent survey asking if we USCCA members were NRA members. I’m an Endowment Member and find it apalling that individual RIGHTS specified in the Bill of Rights in the federal constitution are even subject to question! Muncipalities don’t get to arbitrarily suspend one’s voting or free speech rights…
12:57 pm
Your stated you fear that, in supporting political issues favoring gun rights, you may offend some people. That may or may not be founded in reality. However, I can tell you this: I have never joined or paid dues for USCCA because in my county & state (Los Angeles, CA), it is near impossible to get a CCW permit. I have enjoyed getting the e-mails and articles for free, but now that I know you will be supporting this move to file a brief in Chicago on behalf of gun owners, I will be subscribing to your website. This is despite the fact that I do not have (and do not soon plan to obtain) a CCW permit. I feel that throwing political and financial support behind initiatives which keep our rights secure is that important.
12:57 pm
Tim, I fully support the USCCA donation to the Buckeye Firearms Association’s drive to help defend our Second Amendment rights in the Chicago case. I feel that if we don’t start standing up for our Constitutional rights, we will fall for anything. The problems in this country today stem from people taking the easy way out and letting the politicians decide our fate. Shame on us.
12:58 pm
Thank you for all you do to support our Second Amendment Right given to us by GOD not government. I do stand up, vote, write congressmen on a regular basis, tell everyone I know about American freedom and why we are so special. Too bad our children have been taught for the past 50 years to hate America and all it stands for. If individuals and groups representing those with like beliefs do not stand up for all of our rights, they will be taken away - that is real history. I for one am willing to die for those freedoms fought for by me and for me and all Americans.Speaking up is less painfull than dying.
12:59 pm
I couldn’t agree more. This fight has to be won.
12:59 pm
Tim, I’m a new member and I just want to say that I applaud your decision to donate the money you did to fight the good fight. Keep it up and know that you have lots of folks watchin your back… including this patriot.
1:01 pm
I think its great everone better be doing more or we will be out in left field
1:01 pm
I have been a member of Buckeye Firearms Association and USCCA. So my USCCA renewal is like a “two-fer”. The Chicago case is the next step in restoring the 2nd Amendment in our country.
1:03 pm
I agree that anyone believing in the Second Amendment needs to step up and donate. It is very costly to meet all the challenges that is being thrown at all of us. I can’t believe anyone would want to stand idely by and think our rights aren’t being challenged from every anti gun politicians and organizations.
1:06 pm
I would love to ignore the politicians but they won’t leave me alone. They keep stepping on my toes and spending my money.
We are the last line of defense.
1:06 pm
If we start to get too complacent regarding our rights, including those our forefathers had the wisdom to include in the US Constitution, they will gradually erode away. Regardless of the letter a politician may place after their name, it appears most play fast & loose with our rights. I hope the 11/03/09 election served as a wake-up call for many of them. Look at what Mayor Bloomberg is reported to have spent to get re-elected. His blatant anti-gun attitudes and actions make him a dangerous figure in any political arena. The broad availability of information via conservative media outlets, the internet, etc. has made the poloticos lives much more difficult. It is more difficult to slip through some of the amendments that used to go unnoticed, yet most bills passed through Congress are still pork laden.
The dumbing down of our schools’ curricula, and lowering the standards for passing grades are leading to a nation of sheeple. “Don’t bother me with any of that stuff - my favorite TV program is coming on, and I need to know what Celebrity X has been up to. The politics will take care ot itself.”
Keep up the good fight.
1:06 pm
Good job Tim, keep up the good work. The war between “us” and the “gun grabbers” never ends and we must do what we can to win each individual battle. It’s amazing that those who would deny us our Constitutional right to protect ourselves live in protected gated communities or have personal body guards or both. Let them walk a mile in our streets and neighborhoods and if they survive see if they change their minds.
1:07 pm
I am a senior citizen who lives in Cook County Illinois and even though I have a permit to carry it is not honored in my state. I wish I could afford to join you however
money is very tight and the way this country is going for the next 3&1/4 years money is going to be even tighter for senior citizens
1:07 pm
Well Labor Unions and groups like AARP are spending big dollars supporting candidates and the anti-gun lobby. I think there are times like this when groups like USCCA need to take a stand and put up the dollars. I know the NRA is in the fight also, LET’S ROLL a win in Chicago is a win everywhere.
1:08 pm
I think your coffee analogy is right on the money. And, the same holds true with everything else in politics. I know that I’ve gotten more involved in what’s going on this past year than I ever have been before. And, I’ll bet the same is true for a lot of the rest of you.
1:08 pm
It’s absolutely necessary to stand up and ensure that our rights are not taken away. There has been a strong movement away from the Constitution in this country for way too long. This will destroy this great country. I don’t live in Chicago or Washinton D.C., but if we allow it to happen there, it will eventually make its way to my (our) community. Thanks USCCA!
1:09 pm
Tim, That is awesome. I wish we all were able to donate that much. I give what I can for what I believe in also. Thanks for doing that.
Member, USCCA.
1:12 pm
I also want to mention the recent elections in NJ & VA. If this is any indication, we may see allot of changes for the better and maybe sooner than we think.
1:10 pm
The second amendment is the very essence of who we are as americans. It is the mortar that binds us to honor, dignity, and truth. Our founding fathers knew that these principles must be upheld even at the cost of human blood. Many have died to preserve this gift. Americans must realize that if we sleep freedom away, we are doomed to socialism and destruction. America will only work the way our founders established. Freedom is worth every drop of blood to keep safe. God bless america and God strengthen our resolve!!!
1:11 pm
THANK YOU TIM for stepping up to fight for our rights! Those who want total social control are determined, aggressive, and well-heeled, and their goal is abolishment of ALL civilian firearms. Useless gun laws have already destroyed freedom and the 2nd amendment in many localities in the U.S. If you value American liberty and your right to choose to defend yourself, then we have to fight these people and their unconstitutional laws, even if it comes down to civil disobedience.
1:11 pm
Thank You! As a new member I love the info you put out and greatly appreciate the political stand you take. Keep it up.
1:11 pm
We need our right to own guns to protect ourselves. The news is full of people being murdered, and not with just guns. They might be alive if only they’d had a gun to defend themselves. No gun, no chance. With a gun, you have a chance to save your life.
I’ll become a USCCA member when I get a job.
1:12 pm
Cudos to you Tim!!! When I get some extra money again I will catch your back. The “no politics” mentality is EXACTLY why this country is in the shape it is!!! We MUST GET INVOLVED or lose it all!!
1:12 pm
good to see you are putting your money where your mouth is. We must fight on EVERY FRONT to win back our constitutional rights that we LET our government steal from us, sometimes by law or sometimes by unpublished unauthorized regulations, like BATF and in New Orleans.
1:13 pm
I support your decision. Keep up the good work.
1:16 pm
Are you at Abbott ?
1:13 pm
Tim, I think it’s great ! We all have to stand up for our rights before they are gone. I just renewed my membership and thanks again for stepping up to help protect our 2A rights !!
1:13 pm
How many times have we reminded the gun grabbers, that guns don’t kill people, people kill people. There will always be accidental killings by youngters whose fathers are not wary enough to make sure a child can’t get to a gun. But, that should not be reason to take everyones gun away. What if a politician who is against guns, was mugged by someone with a gun, puts up a fight and is killed. I’d be willing to bet his wife and children wished he’d had a gun himself.
1:14 pm
“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)
Thank you doing your part to do something. Every one of us needs to support the rights we have or they will be taken from us. For too long I did not bother even writing my elected representatives. For the past two years I have, and it is not only satisfying personally, but this has made me more aware of current issues. I no longer assume they know on their own what is right or wrong, and I know that if enough good people make contact that the representatives will be steered towards what is right.
1:14 pm
Having just read this, I am proud to be a member of USCCA even though I do not carry (yet). I have long been a Life member of NRA and CRPA, but they need all our help to carry this fight to a successful conclusion. Way to go, Tim!
1:15 pm
This gun ban issue is only the tip of the iceberg.
Obama has lied about every promise made during his campaign. He is a traitor to America, a terrorist sympathizer, and a Marxist. Let’s start a campaign to impeach him and get back to our American roots.
1:15 pm
Way to go USCCA. Well done, I live in The Great Commonwealth of Kentucky and I have my CCDW permit and I look forward to keeping it. I used to live in McHenry County and when we would go into Chicago to the theater
to see a play you would not believe the things we had seen, purse snatching and whatnot the people of Chicago need the opportunity to protect them selves.
1:16 pm
As a member of the NRA, and USCCA, I am glad that you are helping to protect our rights to carry. Our country has too many leftist out there. I just don’t understand how these poeple think or there logic??
Keep up the Fight!!
1:16 pm
I am very happy to hear that UCCC has stepped up to the plate
1:18 pm
I’m not one to start spouting off about something I think is important. But, this issue really is important. The Supreme Court has allowed anti-gun political activists to quash one of our most basic rights as citizens in a free country: the right to bear & keep arms without infringement. What part of the term infringement do they not understand ? This issue- once resolved in our favor - will be judged to have been an absurd example of how being politically correct was used to abrogate the constitutional rights of American citizens. It shouldn’t matter that the courts in this country are stacked with kook activists. The constitution is unambiguous in providing the right to bear & keep arms. Period, end of argument. Even the ACLU should be with us on this issue !!
1:20 pm
I think it is great that you contributed these funds. I contribute to 2nd Amendment causes all the time. If you own weapons, especially if you carry concealed, you need to put your dollars out there to help the efforts to retain our rights.
1:20 pm
Ottis McDonald VS Chicago is a friend of mine even though I live in So.Illinois and he in a Chicago suburb. I also am white and he is black but that is of no consquence I can easily say he is an honest man of character and integrity I am proud to stand with him any day of the week and will back him to the max so that said am very glad to see your stand and support for what is god given in the first place. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
1:22 pm
Bravo, thanks for stepping up to the plate to fight for our rights!
1:23 pm
Being a 70 something and not well heeled, I appreciate the great job that USCCA and the NRA are doing. I know that there are millions of us in the same boat, depending on the support of those who can.
Thank you so much!
and: Yes I still carry!
1:23 pm
Rights are a right - not a privilege. They are worth fighting for and the trick is to stay away from the extreme. Freedom is not free, nor is it cheap. I am always suspicious of those who take away your rights so you can be free - that is an oxymoronic statement. As a citizen by choice, I say - Keep it up Tim.
1:24 pm
Thanks for standing up for the 2nd Amendment against those who believe that Amendment does not cover individuals owning handguns…merely state militias. Thanks, also, for becoming involved in the political struggle. And the Chicago anti-gun laws are, indeed, political, only controlling the good people, not the bad. We keep our rights by speaking out on political issues, by voting against those who are skeptical about the Constitutional restraint of the State, by donating to causes which strengthen our rights, and by staying informed. G-d bless!
1:24 pm
dear tim i realy enjoy the information that you have on your site.i have not yet joined uscca.i was layed off last year and cant at this time but rest asure that i will.god bless you for what you are doing.i have been a concealed carry man for many years and i always will.i find all the information that you send realy good so keep up the good work and thanks again.
